Function I. Solid-Liquid Separation

Solid particles (e.g., cuttings, silt, and sand) in the drilling fluid are thrown towards the wall of the device due to centrifugal force, while clean drilling fluid flows out through the central outlet.

Particle Size Range: The hydrocyclone desilter primarily targets solid particles in the range of 15 to 44 microns and above. Depending on the specific conditions of the drilling fluid, micro-hydrocyclones can also be used to further separate solid particles as small as 2 to 4 microns.
